The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner - Corporate to join our team and partner with our leaders in delivering strategic human resources plans and solutions and improving organisational performance to meet the objectives of St John WA. As a key member of our People Services team, you will offer reliable and timely support and advice to the business. This will include but not limited to managing workplace change, partnering with people leaders to uplift operations, performance management, HR reporting, fitness for work, conflict resolution and misconduct management.

This role will support a portfolio in Corporate Services. Think of this as a true generalist position in HR, where no one day will ever be the same. The work is interesting, complex, challenging, busy and very fast paced!

What you’ll need:

  • You are a quick learner, able to handle a large workload, have excellent attention to detail, amazing interpersonal and problem-solving skills and have a pragmatic approach in dealing with people matters.
  • Have a focus on early prevention to mitigate escalation of people matters.  
  • Demonstrated experience as a Human Resources Generalist / Specialist / Business Partner role (or similar) where you have successfully developed strategies and solutions to effectively address a variety of human resources and employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated experience working across a range of human resources activities including managing workplace change, partnering with people leaders to uplift operations, performance management, HR reporting, transactional HR activities, fitness for work, conflict resolution and misconduct management.
  • Experience in case management, demonstrating proficiency in risk assessment and providing relevant stakeholders with high-quality advice and actions in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in the end-to-end investigation processing, including witness statements, findings report.
  • The ability to coach and support leaders to address performance, conflict and conduct concerns.
  • A solid understanding of employment legislation and the ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and Contracts of Employment
  • Proficiency in developing briefing notes, business cases, and other business-related documentation.
  • Tertiary qualification in human resources management or similar (desirable).
