As a Radio Installer with St John WA you will join a proactive and self-motivating team in a modern workshop based in Belmont and assist with the installation and deinstallation of communications equipment used within the St John Ambulance Fleet. This is an opportunity to develop your skill set with an evolving Not For Profit Organisation providing an essential service in your community.

What you’ll do:

  • Action installation and deinstallation jobs as per line manager requirements
  • Follow vehicle delivery schedule to ensure no disruptions to operational workflows
  • Meet KPIs associated with installation and deinstallation of all communication and data equipment
  • Assist career ambulance employees and volunteers with system and radio requirements
  • Liaise with Metropolitan and Country St John Staff and Volunteers to arrange vehicle installation requirements and coordinate installation times
  • Update fleet management system as required
  • Maintain the required stock levels of equipment and consumables used in the vehicle installation process

What you’ll need:

  • A current ‘C’ or ‘CA’ Class Driver’s Licence, with no more than 6 demerit points
  • Understanding of and experience with radio frequency technologies and communications equipment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Mechanically competent
  • Familiar with vehicle 12 Volt electrical systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to professionally communicate with different stakeholders
  • Knowledge of 3G, 4G, WIFI and satellite forms of communication (desirable)
  • Experience with the installation of emergency lights and sirens (desirable)
