As the Senior Technology Advisor, you serve as a trusted business partner, providing strategic technology leadership that aligns innovation with organisational priorities. This role is accountable for assessing, shaping and recommending technology directions that directly support business goals and future growth. You play a pivotal role in guiding solution design and architectural decisions, ensuring they create value, minimise technical debt and drive sustainable outcomes.

This role is a permanent full-time position based at our head office in Belmont.

What you’ll do:

  • collaborate with business leaders to understand functional needs and evaluate the strategic impact of technology options.
  • Develop conceptual and target-state architectures that align IT initiatives with business outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging technologies, trends, and innovation, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and timing.
  • Partner with project managers and IT leaders to guide technology initiatives toward architectural alignment and successful outcome.
  • Maintain and enhance technology frameworks, reference models, and transition roadmaps.
  • Define and uphold technical standards, patterns, and governance mechanisms to ensure solution integrity and alignment.
  • Provide authoritative recommendations on complex technology issues spanning systems, infrastructure, applications, and information domains.
  • Engage with technical teams, system owners, and subject matter experts to identify and resolve technical debt and skill gaps.
  • Lead solution designs efforts and business case formulation to support digital initiatives and long-term strategic goals.

What you’ll need:

  • Comprehensive solution architecture expertise in overseeing IT projects, navigating, and communicating complex technical challenges, potential solutions, and the implications of technical debt to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled. Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organised approaches to work. Communicates a “can do” attitude and positive outlook, minimising negative behaviours.
  • Demonstrates broad and deep technical expertise across multiple enterprise technology platforms – including cloud computing, networking, and applications – supported by relevant industry certifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in navigating ambiguity and balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience in assessing and remediating technical debt, modernising legacy systems, and leading architectural transformations.
