As the Contracts Specialist you will be responsible for the contract, financial management and governance oversight of all relevant customer facing government and non-government contracts. You will support the business with involvement in tendering input and support, negotiation and contract management including the effective management and coordination of reporting requirements to clients. You will ensure the performance of all contract obligations for major clients and that any deficits in contract performance are escalated.

Reporting into the Commercial and Contracts Manager you will be joining a friendly, committed and enthusiastic team supporting predominately the Emergency stream. An important part of the role is to regularly interface with our customers and as such you will be primarily based at our Belmont office. *Working hours can be negotiated for the right candidate – (Part time 0.8 could be considered)*

  • Develop key relationships and trust with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on high-value contract processes, including tenders, evaluations, and ensuring timely contract delivery and compliance.
  • Manage financial performance, contractual compliance, and high-value contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and processes.
  • Oversee drafting, negotiation, and execution of various contracts, including NDAs, MOUs, and service agreements, and ensure proper documentation and correspondence management.
  • Provide contractual clarification, support dispute resolution, and represent the business in contract negotiations and meetings.
  • Analyse business performance and risks, ensuring contract compliance, financial oversight, and the optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and implement contract management procedures, monitor Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards.

 

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience managing contracts including input to tenders, negotiations, T&C's, contract award, and contract compliance, performance monitoring and reporting
  • Legally savvy within contract or corporate law
  • Strong team working capabilities
  • Ability to engage effectively and confidently with people at all levels
  • Commercial acumen
  • Good problem solving and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great presentation skills.
  • Strong contract management/supply chain and commercial experience in private and or public sector
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience and expertise
  • Extensive background in corporate enterprises, health services sector involvement advantageous but not necessary
  • Tertiary degree (or equivalent) commerce, business law or similar discipline (desirable)
