About the Role

We are seeking a HRIS Systems Specialist to join our People Stream on a Permanent Full-time basis in our Belmont office.

This role forms part of a small, values-driven team with strong working relationships, where collaboration, trust and genuine support underpin how we work together. You will join a group that takes pride in open communication, shared learning and collectively shaping meaningful outcomes for the organisation.

This role will play a central role in the governance, implementation and ongoing optimisation of the Core HR system, championing its implementation, optimisation and ongoing governance to ensure it effectively supports end-to-end HR operations. Drawing on operational HR experience, the People Systems Specialist will ensure the system reflects real-world workforce processes, legislative requirements and best-practice people management frameworks, while amplifying the overall people experience through intuitive, employee-centred system design.

Working closely in partnership with key stakeholders, this role will translate practical HR knowledge into scalable, compliant and efficient system solutions across the Core HR platform and its integration points.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Champion the implementation, configuration and continuous optimisation of the Core HR system to support operational HR delivery.
  • Apply practical HR experience to review, design and enhance system workflows, approval pathways and organisational structures.
  • Play a central role in the governance and optimisation of the Core HR platform, managing security roles, workflows and system controls.
  • Partner with HR leaders and subject matter experts to translate operational requirements into effective system configuration.
  • Oversee data integrity, compliance monitoring and system audits to ensure accurate workforce records and reporting.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, release management, integrations and vendor engagement activities.
  • Conduct structured testing of enhancements and process changes to ensure alignment with operational HR practices.
  • Lead Core HR reporting, dashboards and workforce analytics to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate HR processes, improving efficiency and user experience for HR teams, leaders and team members.
  •  Provide expert advice and escalation support on complex system and process matters.
  • Provide support across other People Systems within the team as required, contributing to broader system initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience implementing, enhancing or acting as system owner for a Core HR or enterprise HRIS platform.
  • Demonstrated operational HR experience, with strong understanding of end-to-end employee lifecycle processes.
  • Proven ability to translate practical HR knowledge into system configuration, workflow design and process optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS data structures, security frameworks, compliance requirements and governance controls.
  • Advanced analytical capability, with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Information Systems or a related discipline (desirable), or significant experience in a dedicated HR or HRIS / People Systems role.
  • Experience with enterprise HR platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM or similar.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence across people and operational functions.
  • High attention to detail, sound problem-solving capability and strong organisational skills.
