The Opportunity

St John WA (SJWA) is seeking skilled Medics to join our casual pool, supporting a range of metro-based contracts across construction, aviation environments and public events with flexible shifts, and the opportunity to cover leave and short-term assignments.

About you

SJWA are seeking a qualified medic with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in pre-hospital or primary healthcare. You’re confident working independently, bringing strong clinical skills and a calm, proactive approach to challenging situations. You take pride in delivering high-quality care, upholding safety standards, and communicating effectively with patients, clients, and emergency services. Flexibility is essential — you must be willing and able to travel to various contract sites across the metropolitan area, consistently demonstrating professionalism and reliability. With a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to patient wellbeing, you thrive in fast-paced and diverse environments.

Requirements:

  • HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care OR HLT41120 Certificate IV in Health Care
  • Complete an Online Assessment (achieving 80% and above)
  • Police Clearance (within 3 months)
  • Ability to pass an ASIC background check
  • Current White Card or willing to obtain
  • Own Transport
  • Valid CPR Certificate (within 12 months)
  • Ability to pass a fit for work (Drug and alcohol screening)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective, safe pre-hospital care aligned with Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and scope of training
  • Maintain medical equipment in a ready-to-use and clean condition
  • Uphold workplace safety practices to ensure patient and team welfare
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, clients, emergency services, and site management
  • Participate in site emergency drills and provide general healthcare support
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks on all vehicles and medical gear where necessary
  • Comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies and procedures
