St John has taken a unique approach to Urgent Care Centres with the development of a coordinated, patient centric model. St John Urgent Care allows patients with non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses to be comprehensively managed in a primary care setting and to receive the most appropriate care without the need to attend and Emergency Department (ED). St John currently operates 6 Urgent Care centres in Armadale/Kelmscott, Cannington, Cockburn, Midland, Joondalup and Osborne Park. These facilities are state of the art and offer a range of combined health solutions including GP, Urgent Care and Dental, along with allied services and x-ray/imaging facilities.

St John centres nestle themselves perfectly between the First Aid and Ambulance services of St John WA. We offer a range of combined health solutions including general practice, urgent care, chronic disease and dental, along with allied services and x-ray facilities to service our community where they need it most.

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager who is proactive with a positive "can-do" attitude for our busy GP and Urgent Care clinics in Armadale and Kelmscott. The practices incorporate medical, dental and urgent care facilities and you will be responsible for leading the clinics with the support of strong senior personnel including a Practice 2IC, Clinical Lead Nurse and Dental Manager. This is a full-time opportunity however the ideal individual will be flexible on availability Monday - Friday between the hours of 7.30am - 5pm.

What you will be doing:

  • Risk management and quality improvement processes
  • Overseeing day-to-day medical practice operations
  • Financial duties including overseeing all billing, banking, monthly reconciliation, ordering, cost reduction, budget targets, statements, coding, approval of all accounts payable invoices, debt collection and providing reports to the health management team
  • Management of rosters, timesheets and assisting with staff recruitment
  • Training and supervision of staff and conducting performance reviews

What you will need:

  • Proven Leadership and Management experience
  • Practice accreditation process review and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing resilient teams who work together to achieve best practice
  • Exceptional conflict resolution skills
  • Strong ability to lead in the area of change management to ensure smooth transition of organisational innovations and transformations
  • Knowledge and experience using medical practice software
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of experience in all Microsoft office suites
  • Exceptional understanding of Medicare
  • Recent CPR/First Aid Certificate

Desirable:

  • Expert knowledge of Accreditation and the ability to write and implement the process
  • An understanding of the RACGP 5th standards
  • Knowledge of Chronic Disease management
  • Experience with Best Practice software
  • Diploma in Business Management or equivalent would be desirable
