About the Role:

We are looking for a Procurement Category Specialist to join our Supply Chain department on a Permanent full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday located in Belmont.

You will be responsible for overseeing the entire commercial lifecycle of designated procurement categories, including sourcing, contract management and supplier relationships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development of strategic plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, priorities and budget.
  • Manage the sourcing process, including the preparation of RFXs, market testing, supplier negotiations and contract award
  • Managing drafting, negotiation and administration of contract to ensure clear terms, mitigate risks and drive compliance.
  • Ensure the organisation is effectively monitoring supplier performance to ensure service levels, costs efficiency and quality standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholder to understand their needs, provide strategic advice on procurement solutions, and drive collaboration to ensure procurement aligns with business goals
  • Identify, assess and manage procurement-related risks.
  • Assume responsibility of assigned procurement categories, providing leadership and autonomy in decision-making, from strategy development to execution
  • Provide support to Procurement colleagues by sharing best practices, balancing workloads and stepping in to assist with high-priority projects as required.
  • Maintain a clear pipeline of ongoing procurement activities, ensuring all projects are tracked updated, and communicated to relevant stakeholders regularly.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, enhance supplier performance and reduce costs.

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain management, ideally in a complex environment (essential).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification aligned to ambit of this position i.e. Strategic Supply Chain Management, or Logistics and Procurement (essential).
  • C Class drivers’ license (essential).
  • Experience in ICT procurement (highly regarded though not essential)
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or willingness to obtain.
  • Background in corporate, health, community or commercial based sectors.
  • Experience in managing the full commercial lifecycle, including sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management.
