About the Role:

We are looking for a Respiratory Protection Lead to join our Wellbeing, Safety & Injury Management department on a Full-Time basis. The role will be responsible for leading a team of Respiratory Protection Advisors to deliver on the SJWA Respiratory Protection Program, in particular the delivery of fit testing throughout St John WA and external clients required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to the RPP education and training component, including respirator fit checking and don/doff procedures.
  • Scope and develop the St John WA Respiratory Protection Program which will include quantitative fit testing, education and training, ongoing communications, fit checking, donning and doffing procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protection Equipment (RPE) selection and resourcing requirements.
  • Compare and recommend the most appropriate quantitative fit testing solution for St John WA.
  • Undertake occupational hygiene workplace monitoring and assessment activities to collect quantitative and qualitive data to support risk assessment and control validation activities.
  • Contribute to company and statutory compliance obligations through the input of hygiene data on a regular basis as directed and by assisting in the generation of quality reports.
  • Work collaboratively to optimise external business opportunities in the area of respirator protection.
  • Conducting annual workplace exposure assessments – fit testing
  • Development and facilitation of monitoring programs
  • Ensure team members have the knowledge, skills and abilities to achieve personal and performance objectives.

What You’ll Need:

  • Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Occupational Hygienist or related.
  • Respiratory Fit Testing training and accreditation.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of PPE and RPE in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in the development and implementation of OH&S and/or IP&C programs, policies and practices with demonstrated delivery of outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the occupational health and hygiene risks associated with healthcare/pre-hospital care.
  • Background in corporate, Health, Community or Commercial based sectors.
