About the Role:
This position sits within the Data Science and Analytics team at St John WA which uses data to help the organisation make informed decisions to better serve the community.
The Data Science and Analytics team consist of four units: Operational Analytics, Strategic Analytics, Data Insights, and Data Science. The team has grown rapidly over the past six years as the organisation continues to embrace the value of data and analytics and works in close partnership with the Data Engineering and Governance team.
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Data Scientist to join the team, based at our State Office in Belmont, on permanent fulltime basis.

What You’ll Do:
The Data Science unit helps tackle challenges or opportunities requiring a combination of specialised skills in statistics, programming, machine learning, and associated tools and methodologies.
The unit’s focus is using data science techniques to convert data into actionable information that delivers community benefit, using a ‘fail fast’ approach of rapidly prototyping products and then iterating to improve those which provide value.
