A job to be proud of:

As a Senior Enterprise Network Engineer at St John WA, you are responsible for providing expertise within Digital Services supporting the team in planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimising all IT and OT Network Technology hardware, software, and communication links, ensuring minimal downtime. You will also support to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues, providing end-user support as needed. These responsibilities are essential for maintaining the operational integrity of St John’s IT and Emergency Service Infrastructure, ensuring that end users have the necessary tools to perform their jobs effectively.

This position is a permanent full-time position and will be located at the Belmont office.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborates with the architectural group to understand functional needs and illustrates how different technological options can impact strategic decisions.
  • Assist with Design of technical systems that incorporate software defined solutions. (CISCO ACI, SD-A and SD-WAN)
  • Participate in hands-on delivery where necessary, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient technology solutions.
  • Continually review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and guidelines and proactively identify when adjustments to the enterprise architecture are required to accommodate new needs or technologies.
  • Recommend and drive strategic technical improvements, identifying opportunities for innovation and leading the implementation of enhancements that improves systems, processes, and overall performance.
  • Provide technical support for the successful adoption of new network solutions, ensuring smooth integration and effective utilisation across the organisation to maximise the benefits of digital transformation.
  • Provide expertise as a CISCO enterprise networking SME to inform and guide the development of the technology roadmap, including ACI, SD-A, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Perform maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations across our CISCO Product Suite.

What you’ll need:

  • Previous experience working on both IT and OT environments.
  • Experience in the technical delivery of projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Good problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Proven capability to guide the transition from legacy systems to modern, agile platforms, enhancing efficiency and business agility.
  • Ability to adapt and remain resilient under pressure.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network wireless solutions, including Wi-Fi deployment and optimisation, as well as voice solutions such as VoIP/unified communications platforms.
