About the Role:

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance department on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you will help ensure our financial systems operate efficiently by processing journals, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting. Your work, from accurate GST/BAS submissions to maintaining financial records, will play an important part in keeping our operations running smoothly. You will also support treasury activities, month‑end processes, and annual audits, contributing to strong and reliable financial governance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure all records are maintained efficiently and accurately
  • Respond to financial enquires within a reasonable timeframe
  • Assist and support the Fixed Assets processes of the organisation
  • Support the External Reporting team by efficiently cross training in other tasks of the team
  • Contribute to the month-end process and ensure accruals, prepayments, and financial information are accurately reflected
  • Support the annual audit process and the preparation of financial statements
  • Complete monthly reconciliations within specified timeframes to support the monthly reporting requirements of the finance team.

What You’ll Need:

  • Relevant qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or working towards one)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role (accounting or bookkeeping)
  • Background in corporate, health, community or commercial based sectors
  • Knowledge of GST and FBT compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience with accounting systems and processes.
