About the role:

As the Learning Experience Designer, you will be is responsible for designing and developing high quality, engaging learning experiences that align with organisational goals and workforce capability needs. This role applies adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and digital learning technologies to create scalable, innovative solutions that enhance knowledge transfer and performance. Working collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders, you will ensure all learning programs are learner-centric, measurable, and aligned with best practice standards. This is a permanent full-time position working within a passionate team who are transforming the learning opportunities for St John WA.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop learning resources such as e‑learning modules, facilitator guides, workbooks, and job aids.
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and the 70/20/10 model to create engaging blended learning experiences.
  • Ensure all learning materials meet accessibility, inclusivity, branding, and compliance standards.
  • Integrate multimedia, interactive elements, and assessments to enhance engagement and support effective learning.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, learner‑friendly content.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using data, analytics, and feedback, preparing reports and recommending improvements.
  • Manage digital learning platforms and tools, maintain accurate LMS records, and conduct usability and quality assurance testing.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies (e.g., VR, AR, microlearning, AI) to drive innovation and optimise learning for mobile and remote access.

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive expertise in LMS platforms and digital learning tools, supported by strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Skilled in designing and delivering learning experiences, including presentations, workshops, and both virtual and in‑person training.
  • Proven capability in developing high‑quality educational resources informed by research, industry trends, and adult learning principles.
  • Highly organised and detail‑focused, able to prioritise effectively in fast‑paced learning and development environments.
  • Self‑driven communicator and collaborator who shows initiative, creativity, strong communication skills, and a passion for developing self and others.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant degree (desirable)
