An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced clinical and operational leader to join St John WA as Clinical Hub Operations Lead. Reporting to the Manager – Clinical Hub & Quality, this role provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure the Clinical Hub delivers safe, sustainable, and patient-centred services aligned with organisational priorities and clinical governance frameworks.

The working pattern is Monday - Friday working from SHOC (State Health Operations Centre) located in Perth CBD.

You will lead a multidisciplinary clinical workforce and play a key role in strengthening care pathways, improving service coordination, and reducing avoidable Emergency Department presentations.

What You’ll Do

You will:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and performance management of Clinical Hub staff, including Navigators, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance service delivery, improve patient flow, and support appropriate care pathways that reduce avoidable ED presentations.
  • Oversee workforce planning, service coordination, and interagency engagement to support safe and effective care delivery.
  • Ensure robust risk management, business continuity, and emergency preparedness across Clinical Hub operations.
  • Use data, performance metrics, and insights to drive continuous improvement and align outcomes with St John WA priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, legislative requirements, quality standards, and organisational policies.

Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in nursing, paramedicine, or a related health discipline, with current professional registration (where applicable). APRHA
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical operations leadership within emergency, urgent care, or complex health service environments.
  • Proven people leadership capability, including workforce planning, supervision, and performance development.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement frameworks.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with internal and external partners.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, health management, or a related field.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within virtual care, clinical coordination, or hub-based service models.
  • Demonstrated experience using data and performance reporting to inform service improvement initiatives.
