A job to be proud of:

As the Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will organise and oversee the placement of clinical mentorship / observing placements for internal and external partners. You will liaise with educational/industry institutions to ensure seamless placement processes, track student progression, address logistical issues and maintain compliance with program requirements. This role plays a crucial role in facilitating observational and hands-on learning experiences for aspiring healthcare professionals.

The is a permanent part time role working 30 hours per week working in our Belmont office and reporting into the Health Alliance Engagement Manager.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and facilitate clinical placements for university students, internal staff, and volunteers, ensuring they receive appropriate exposure and experience within the operational environment. Maintain the clinical mentorship/observer performance and provide follow up with students. Communicate with the university coordinator if a student is exposed to difficult or high-acuity cases to ensure appropriate support and debriefing.
  • Ensure that all legal and safety obligations have been met prior to the start of shift.
  • Liaise closely with.  Internal teams (Operations, Rosters, Clinical Education) and external organisations, including universities and industry partners, to facilitate placements.
  • Facilitate and support different initiatives for SJWA and external partners in relation to clinical placements.
  • Ensure all policy and procedures are met during the process of placements.
  • Central record filing in accordance with St John policies and procedures whilst ensuring all records are maintained as private and confidential.

What you’ll need:

  • Advanced administration skills and 2 years minimum office-based experience
  • High level of knowledge of Microsoft and Excel
  • Experience using Power BI (preferred)
  • Rostering and prioritising experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve independently

  • Strong organisational skills
