Are you passionate about supporting volunteers and making a difference in your community?

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Administration Officer to play a key role in assisting with the onboarding, engagement, recognition, and management of volunteers within our Youth and Community Engagement team.

This permanent part-time role involves working 15 hours per week every Thursday and Friday, providing essential administrative support, coordinating volunteer schedules for events, and ensuring clear communication and documentation of all volunteer activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Organising training sessions, professional development opportunities, and social events for volunteers
  • Schedule community events and roster volunteers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Gather event details from clients and create event confirmations for volunteer teams
  • Support volunteer onboarding by retrieving records, enrolling them in training, and tracking probation periods
  • Maintain and update the volunteer tracking database, ensuring qualifications and records are current
  • Record volunteer hours and generate reports as required
  • Assist in planning and coordinating training, professional development, and social activities for volunteers
  • Support Academy leader engagement and assist in implementing academy programs
  • Communicate with volunteers regarding event opportunities and ensure roster fulfillment
  • Assist with marketing and communications, including social media and newsletters
  • Respond to participant and stakeholder inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Attending a volunteer training session every two months from 6-8 PM on Thursday nights.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience working with volunteers (essential)
  • A valid Working with Children Card (essential) or willing to get one 
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
