Are you passionate about supporting volunteers and making a difference in your community?

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteers for the First Aid Awareness and Academy programs at St John WA.

This permanent part-time role involves working 22.5 hrs per week every Wednesday to Friday. This role involves coordinating training, event opportunities, and volunteer engagement while maintaining accurate data and ensuring smooth operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Sourcing team to recruit and interview new volunteers
  • Conduct volunteer inductions, training, and oversee the onboarding process
  • Organise and attend training, professional development, and social activities for volunteers
  • Ensure volunteers are recognised for their contributions and provide opportunities for growth
  • Review training records and ensure volunteers meet role requirements
  • Support youth engagement initiatives and liaise with community partners
  • Coordinate event logistics with the Service Delivery team
  • Maintain equipment and resources for events and activities
  • Ensure clear communication with external stakeholders and team members
  • Manage team performance, vacancies, and ensure projects are delivered on time
  • Review and update policies and procedures for volunteer programs
  • Attending a volunteer training session every two months from 6-8 PM on Thursday nights.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience working with volunteers (essential)
  • Working with Children Card (essential) or willing to get one
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
