About the role
We are seeking an experienced Company Secretary to provide high-quality governance and Board support across St John WA. This is a permanent part-time opportunity (up to 3 days per week) based at Belmont and reporting to the Head of Legal, Risk and Governance.
The role supports a busy governance calendar across the Board and key committees, including the Audit and Investment Committee, the Risk and Compliance Committee, the Safety People and Board Governance Committee, and the Clinical Performance Committee.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate Board and committee calendars, agendas, papers, minutes, action registers and governance follow-up.
- Support the Board, committee chairs, directors and executive leadership with practical governance advice and timely information.
- Maintain company secretarial records, statutory registers and governance documentation with accuracy and discretion.
- Support Board and committee processes across the Audit and Investment Committee, the Risk and Compliance Committee, the Safety People and Board Governance Committee, and the Clinical Performance Committee.
- Support governance reporting, resolutions, lodgements and other corporate secretarial requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of Legal, Risk and Governance and the legal team on governance matters, escalations and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience in company secretarial, governance, Board administration or executive support roles.
- A sound understanding of governance processes, statutory records, committee support and confidential executive communication.
- Excellent writing, minute taking and document preparation skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines and maintain a high standard of accuracy.
- Strong judgement, professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters.
- Experience in a complex organisation, preferably within health, community, corporate or not-for-profit settings, will be highly regarded.
