Lead and Drive Mental Health and Wellbeing Services at St John WA

At St John WA, we are committed to ensuring the mental health and wellbeing of our people. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Manager Wellbeing and Psychology Services to lead and manage the delivery of comprehensive mental health and wellbeing services across our organisation.

In this permanent fulltime role, you will be developing and implementing strategies that enhance psychological resilience and wellbeing for our teams. You will play a key leadership role in fostering a positive safety and wellbeing culture while ensuring our people are equipped to handle the unique challenges of their roles.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and enhance mental health and wellbeing services, including psychosocial risk assessments, wellbeing checks, and crisis support
• Develop and implement frameworks to manage psychosocial risks and drive wellbeing initiatives
• Oversee and evaluate St John WA’s External Assistance Program
• Provide expert guidance on psychological wellbeing to leadership teams
• Manage resources, performance quality, and commercial value metrics
• Drive continuous improvement in wellbeing programs through evaluation and reporting
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen mental health support networks
• Mentor and guide a team, including Psychologists, Wellbeing Support Coordinators, Welfare Officers and Peer Supporters
• Advocate for the mental health needs of first responders within St John WA and the wider community
• Develop high-level relationships with industry leaders to enhance wellbeing services.

What you’ll need:

• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
• Experience in mental health service delivery, preferably within emergency services
• Strong understanding of the psychological challenges faced by first responders
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to manage complex matters with resilience and adaptability
• Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and data management practices
• Proven leadership and management skills
