About the Role:

We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to join our Wellbeing, Safety and Injury Management Support department on a permanent fulltime basis. In this role, you will work with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to manage and review staff pre-employment health assessments, blood and body fluid exposures, infectious disease exposure follow-up, immunisation programs and health monitoring.

You will work closely with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team to support safe, high-quality care and alignment with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, including Standard 3: Preventing and Controlling Infections.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct workplace health assessments, screenings, and pre-employment health evaluations.
  • Support the day-to-day operation and delivery of occupational health clinic services, including vaccinations, routine screenings, contact tracing, clinic coordination, documentation, health record management and follow-up.
  • Assist the CNS in the Coordination and delivery of evidence based occupational health programs, including immunisation campaigns.
  • Assist with outbreak management and response activities in collaboration with the CNS, IPC team and relevant health authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver health education sessions for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing regulations, ethical standards, and relevant Acts and policies.
  • Support health monitoring, reporting, auditing and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide first aid, emergency care, and give medical advice.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing regulations, ethical standards, relevant legislation, NSQHS Standard 3 and St John WA policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in Occupational Health Screening programs.
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Current Department of Health approved immunisation certificate (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of immunisation practices, infection prevention and control, and managing occupational disease exposures.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining continuous RN registration
