What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the Payroll Team Leader in delivering accurate and timely payroll and leave processing for our employees, using the CHRIS21 system. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing payroll and leave transactions in accordance with awards, agreements, and policies
  • Ensuring payroll data is entered accurately and efficiently
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee queries
  • Auditing payroll records to identify over/under payments
  • Escalating complex issues and supporting with background research
  • Maintaining payroll records and filing systems
  • Distributing deduction advice to relevant organisations
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders with payroll-related information

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about getting things right. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Officer role
  • Experience with CHRIS21 or similar payroll systems (desirable)
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of timecards, coding, or accounting (desirable)
  • Clear and professional communication skills
