About the Role:

You will coordinate accounting and finance support and ensure accounting standards and procedures are maintained in regional sub centres and career depots. This role will also provide training, leadership, and guidance to sub centre administrative staff across accounting and finance. This is a 12-month fixed term parental leave contract based in our head office in Belmont, WA (with regular travel to the Midwest Regional Office in Geraldton).

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage staff to ensure team members achieve their professional goals and deliver on organisational priorities.
  • Provide clear role expectations, continuous feedback, and structured performance guidance to direct reports, including support for identifying and addressing skill gaps.
  • Oversee accounting and financial processes to ensure the monthly Statement of Financial Position by sub‑centre is supported by complete and accurate account reconciliations. This includes ensuring all accounts such as Bank, Investment etc. are reconciled monthly and that evidence for all reconciliations is retained.
  • Prepare and submit month‑end journals for paid locations by WD2 and participate in variance analysis to verify the accuracy and reasonableness of financial results.
  • Coordinate monthly performance reviews with the District Operations Manager, monitoring progress against financial and operational targets, identifying trends, and escalating issues where required.
  • Lead annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting, facilitating discussions with managers to determine expected outcomes and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Prepare year‑end audit journals and conduct reviews of all volunteer sub‑centre financials to ensure compliance, accuracy, and audit readiness.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in in a similar role
  • Experience in training and working with volunteers
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in MS Office Suite
  • CA/CPA or part qualified (desirable but not essential)
