About the Role:

The RTO Lead is responsible for providing operational leadership of St John WA’s RTO governance, compliance and quality systems to ensure ongoing alignment to the VET Quality Framework, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This role leads the day to-day management of RTO obligations, oversees compliance reporting and audit readiness, maintains core RTO documentation and systems, and builds capability across the training and delivery functions.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the day‑to‑day RTO compliance function, ensuring alignment with the VET Quality Framework and relevant legislation.
  • Manage the RTO compliance calendar, overseeing priorities, deadlines and workload across compliance, administration and LMS activities.
  • Build strong relationships across training design, delivery and operational teams to support consistent and compliant practices.
  • Identify and address compliance risks, coordinate timely responses, and escalate significant issues to the Head of Training Design and Governance.
  • Develop, review and maintain Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), and lead validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversee internal and external audit readiness, including scheduling, evidence preparation, stakeholder coordination and closing out findings.
  • Maintain and enhance the RTO quality management system, ensuring documentation, policies and registers are current, controlled and accessible.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting, analyse quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations to the Head of Department.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • 5 years’ experience in an RTO compliance, quality and governance role, including responsibility for day to day compliance operations, audit coordination and continuous improvement.
  • Current professional development in VET compliance, quality systems, validation and audit readiness (desirable)
