St John WA has been serving the Western Australian community since 1922. Our organisation has grown into an integrated healthcare provider, connecting people across WA to lifesaving emergency services, urgent care, and health education.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the safety, wellbeing, and health of everyone, no matter where in WA they live. Our services are powered by more than 8,000 dedicated employees and volunteers who bring care, skill, and compassion to every corner of the state.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Wellbeing and Support Coordinator to join our Wellbeing, Safety and Injury Management department on a 6-month fixed term, full-time basis.

In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for staff and volunteers seeking guidance with emotional, practical, or personal challenges. You will deliver ongoing mental health education and awareness initiatives, ensuring wellbeing and support messages are effectively communicated across the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, along with a strong commitment to continuous learning, education, and driving positive cultural change. The hours of work will include some evening work, and nights away when training in remote towns.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver engaging wellbeing education and mental health literacy via training sessions and conversations to groups and individually
  • Promotion of the wellbeing and support department and the programs and resources available to employees and volunteers
  • Provide an approachable and accessible service to on road staff members
  • Recommend and refer employees and volunteers to the right support pathway at the right time
  • Continually research and utilise evidence informed best practices
  • Take part in a rotating, on-call roster
  • Some regional travel will be required, where you will be delivering training to volunteers and paid staff in country subcentres and depots throughout WA – up to 20 nights over a year
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential case notes
  • Work with the team to provide psychological safety awareness and participate in psychosocial investigation processes.
