About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Practice Development Specialist to lead the review, development, standardisation and publication of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) across St John WA. Working within the Medical Directorate and reporting to the Medical Director, Emergency Stream, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clinical workforce is supported by contemporary, evidence-based clinical practice that drives exceptional patient outcomes.
This permanent full-time position is based at our Belmont Office and offers the opportunity to collaborate with clinical leaders, educators, quality and safety practitioners, and subject matter experts to shape clinical practice across Western Australia.
What You'll Do
- Analyse and synthesise research, clinical evidence, standards and peak body guidance to develop and maintain best-practice Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Lead the review, development, standardisation and publication of Clinical Practice Guidelines in alignment with governance, compliance and document control requirements.
- Monitor clinical performance and service quality trends to inform guideline updates and improve patient outcomes.
- Conduct quality improvement and assurance activities relating to clinical practice guidelines and clinical governance.
- Collaborate with educators, clinical leads, safety and quality practitioners and subject matter experts to ensure guidelines remain robust, contemporary and evidence-based.
- Act as a key clinical resource, providing guidance, analysis and recommendations to support clinical practice development across the organisation.
- Support the Medical Director and Medical Advisory Committee through the provision of expert advice and guidance relating to Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Coordinate and communicate Clinical Practice Guideline releases and updates to ensure effective implementation across the organisation.
- Develop written, audio and video resources to support clinical education and change implementation.
- Maintain and enhance the Clinical Practice Guideline online platform, including publishing new and updated content through the Content Management System.
- Support and maintain associated digital clinical tools and applications, ensuring alignment with current guidelines and governance requirements.
- Manage user feedback relating to content quality, accessibility and usability, implementing improvements where appropriate.
- Participate in and support research activities that contribute to the delivery of high-quality pre-hospital care.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
What You'll Need
Essential
- Relevant qualification in Paramedicine or a related healthcare discipline.
- Current AHPRA Registration.
- Demonstrated clinical experience, including experience within an out-of-hospital, ambulance or other pre-hospital healthcare environment.
- Experience synthesising and translating clinical evidence into practical guidelines, procedures, resources or clinical practice improvements.
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based pre-hospital clinical practice and contemporary clinical governance principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex medical and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems and digital content platforms.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
Desirable
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement or change management.
- Understanding of content design principles and experience developing digital learning resources.
- Experience producing audio and visual content for publication or distribution.
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS coding or willingness to learn.
- Experience supporting research initiatives within a healthcare environment.
