The Fleet, Radio, and Equipment Department at St John WA plays a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness and safety of the organization’s statewide vehicle fleet. Comprising a dedicated team of 30 skilled professionals, the department is responsible for managing over 1,000 ambulances and transport vehicles across Western Australia.

Their responsibilities include the full fit-out of vehicles with essential medical and emergency equipment, the installation and maintenance of advanced radio communication systems to support real-time coordination, and the integration of other vital technologies. The team also oversees routine servicing, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure vehicles & medical equipment remain reliable and compliant with safety standard

About the Role:

You will assist in arranging the outsourcing maintenance of vehicles to third party service centres. The role will also provide support to regional St John’s centres that outsource their maintenance and coordinate St John’s motor vehicle accident claims.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate the maintenance of vehicles & equipment undertaken by third-party service centres
  • Organise the booking of services and the delivery of the vehicle to and from the service centre.
  • Ensure St John WA Motor Vehicle Accident claims are processed with the insurer in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all Motor Vehicle Accident claims are tracked and recorded into a centralised folder.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders that relate to any Motor Vehicle Accident claims.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to ensure ambulances are repaired in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all paperwork for the insurer is accurate, signed, dated and completed before sending to the insurer.
  • Ensure the Fleet Management System is updated with all the work undertaken on the vehicles by the service centre.
  • Maintain a registry of all Motor Vehicle Accident claims made and settled through the insurer.

What You’ll Need:

  • Background in corporate, health, community or commercial based sectors
  • Good problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and coordinate personal time management, ensuring seamless workflow even in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in motor vehicle claims, insurance, fleet, maintenance or equipment (highly desirable)
  • C Class drivers’ license
  • Cert IV in Business Administration (highly desirable).
