About the Role:

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join St John WA as a Transport Medic, attending to low and medium acuity interhospital calls.

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to experience ambulance operations while working within a supportive and dedicated Patient and Community Transport team.

Within this team, you will be mentored and guided to gain valuable experience that will help you grow your skills and expand your career opportunities within the ambulance service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide clinical care for low to medium acuity patients as they are transported between private and public hospitals, medical centres, community facilities and private residences.
  • You will ensure that appropriate patient care is rendered prior to and during transport.
  • Clinical duties include but are not limited to; cardiac monitoring, monitoring of intravenous infusions, administration of medications, airway management, and updating patient records.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, relatives, general practitioners, health professionals, and health services providers to ensure the best possible care for the patient is achieved.
  • You will be part of the courageous, caring and confident St John WA team who put themselves on the front-line of pre-hospital care every day.

What You’ll Need:

  • Have completed a degree in Paramedicine from an AHPRA approved course provider or recognised international education provider. 
  • Professional registration with the Paramedicine Board of Australia with no restrictions. 
  • Possess, as a minimum, a current, unrestricted WA ‘C’ or ‘CA’ Class Driver’s Licence and have a good driving history. Probationary drivers will not be considered. 
  • Demonstrate a good driving history with no more than six (6) demerit points at time of application or any serious convictions or loss of licence within the last four years
  • Demonstrate a clear criminal record; a National Police Clearance, including a traffic convictions and infringements report is required as part of the recruitment process. 
  • Successfully complete the medical and fitness assessment. These assessments are designed to assess your physical and psychological ability to fulfil the inherent requirements of the role.
