About the Role

Based in Northbridge, you'll deliver high-quality nursing care within a busy custodial environment. Working as part of a two-nurse team alongside WA Police, you'll assess a person's medical fitness for custody, triage presentations, conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, recognise and respond to clinical deterioration, provide first aid and emergency care, and escalate care in accordance with clinical protocols.

No two shifts are the same, giving you the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise across a diverse range of presentations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role operates on 12-hour shifts (0600-1800 or 1800-0600) with comprehensive clinical handovers at the beginning and end of each shift.

About You

You're an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in emergency or custodial nursing. You enjoy assessment-focused clinical work, thrive in dynamic environments, and are confident managing a broad range of presentations while making sound clinical decisions.

You have excellent assessment and triage skills, recognise and respond to clinical deterioration, and work collaboratively to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

Essential Requirements

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years' nursing experience, including at least 2 years in Emergency Department and/or Custodial/Correctional Nursing
  • Venipuncture competency
  • Current National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months) or willingness to obtain
  • Current Provide First Aid/ALS and CPR certification (current or willing to obtain)
  • Current WA Working with Children Check
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Ability to successfully complete integrity checks

Desirable

  • Nurse Immunisation Certificate
  • Mental Health nursing experience
  • Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
